NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy 2

Based on the national occupational standards for beauty therapy, this qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a junior beauty therapist.

 

Mandatory and optional units are combined to achieve the required number of credits. Topics covered are as follows:

  • Provide facial skin care treatment
  • Provide pedicure services
  • Provide manicure services
  • Enhance the appearance of eyelashes and eyebrows
  • Carry out waxing services
  • Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
  • Promote additional services or products to customers
  • Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety

 

Plus a choice from the following to achieve the required number of credits:

  • Provide makeup services
  • Provide threading services
  • Assist with Spa Operations
  • Enhance appearance using skin camouflage
  • Carry out ear piercing
  • Fulfil salon reception duties

 

Throughout this qualification, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of the relevant anatomy, physiology and health and safety. Students will also develop their communication, customer service and commercial skills all of which are highly valued by employers.
